User Research
After designing the initial control panel, I wanted to see how users interact with the buttons. However, during traditional interviews, I noticed that participants felt anxious and acted unnaturally due to the formal environment.
To fix this, I turned the testing into a fun, fast-paced game challenge. This broke the ice and allowed me to capture their raw, natural reactions under pressure. These insights helped me improve the design into a simpler, stress-free interface.
We conducted post-test interviews to gather user feedback and reactions. Our focus was on clarity and how quickly users interacted with the screen. We designed several prototypes of the cart in different sizes for practical testing. We tested them with users inside the real IKEA environment to study realistic interaction. The results helped us prove the cart's fit for the space and user comfort during use.
